A Festival of Music for Midsummer
We came back to the beautiful medieval church of St John the Baptist for another full day of music and evening concert in June. The event was jointly hosted with Coventry Rotary Club, with profits shared between the fund for the restoration of the Bechstein grand piano in the church, and the creation of a school library in Lokiliri, South Sudan.
Coventry Chapters
This was performed at one-time Carthusian monastery Charterhouse Priory a week after the Midsummer Festival and many pieces were used at both events. We held matinee and evening performances in aid of the Historic Coventry Trust who run Charterhouse. The evening performance included guest singer Katharine Taylor-Jones accompanied by Antoine
Sing Out Loud
This was UMCM’s first performance at Earlsdon Park Village. The concert hall has a good stage and we benefited from superb professional sound and lighting from Russ Webster. We focused on songs from popular musicals including longer sequences from The Secret Garden and Matilda.
