Singing In Harmony
UMCM presents Singing In Harmony, a short workshop aimed at inexperienced singers to give you a taste of singing in harmony. No experience needed and no need to be able to read music. No preparation – you will be taught everything you need on the day, and you don’t have to be a “singer”.
It’s followed by a Bring and Share party which everyone is welcome to. Please contact UMCM if you would like to attend the singing, the party or both.
Synaesthesia Association
Next year we hope to combine once more with James Wannerton from the UK Synaesthesia Association. Last time we worked with them was for Music of the Senses, including a very interesting talk and discussion on synaesthesia, an art display and a concert as part of the Earlsdon Festival.
Peace and Reconciliation Event
We’re planning a Peace and Reconciliation event at Earlsdon Methodist Church on Saturday 12 October. The event is shaping up nicely, in fact we are really excited about it and talking to churches and organisations regarding the format and programme. Details will be released as soon as they are confirmed.
Feedback please!
Lizzie has had some really interesting feedback on what it means to perform with UMCM and we would love to hear more from performers especially on how performing at our events has helped you to overcome or cope with fear etc. This can be anonymous but will help us when applying for funding and will enhance the perception of UMCM in Coventry.
Please don’t be backward in coming forward to express whatever you feel could be helpful. Thank you!
Midsummer Festival
Our Midsummer Festival is really starting to take shape! Remember it’s on June 22 and it’s an all-dayer with many talented artists in the church and cafe, including the Worldsong choir and many UMCMers, and a concert in the evening. We’re delighted that pianist Antoine Mitchell will be performing a recital in the evening concert.
